SmackDown Star Says Roman Reigns Doesn’t Need Paul Heyman

One of the most shocking moments in WWE this year has been Roman Reigns aligning himself with Paul Heyman. The duo began their association with each other the SmackDown after Reigns’ return at SummerSlam. However, one SmackDown star doesn’t think the partnership is necessary.

That star is Kofi Kingston. Kingston was recently questioned while speaking in-character with ABC 6 where he discussed Reigns and Heyman working together. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:

“He is a guy who has all the tools. He’s in movies, he’s ‘The Big Dog’ and the top dog in the yard. Why do you need this parasite Paul Heyman? Why do you need him to further yourself? To me, he was already there. I’m going to talk to him when I get there about what’s going on. Out of all the people in the world, why Paul Heyman? To me, he didn’t need to go that route. It’s interesting because you see people over time develop a new sense of personality and a new persona and it draws you in. I didn’t expect this. I never thought Roman would do this in a million years.”

Since aligning with Heymen, Reigns has won the WWE Universal Championship at Payback. He is currently scheduled to defend the title against Jey Uso at Clash of Champions.
