Following today’s (November 5) WWE Crown Jewel event, a new championship match has been made official for next week’s (November 11) episode of WWE SmackDown.
On last night’s episode of the show, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions the Usos were confronted by the New Day, who currently hold the record for the longest WWE Tag Team Championship reign.
The Usos are set to break the record if they hold the championship beyond next week’s episode of SmackDown.
The New Day, in defence of their record, challenged the champions to a match on next week’s show, whether it be the Usos or the Brawling Brutes.
The Usos retained the championships against the Brawling Brutes at Crown Jewel, which officially sets them up for yet another battle with the New Day for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champioship.
If the New Day are victorious, their reign as the champions from August 2015 until December 2016 will remain as the longest title reign in history.
The Usos’ SmackDown Tag Team Championship reign began back at Money In The Bank 2021, when they defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio.
WWE has now officially announced the match on social media.
Also set for next week’s show is a first-time ever match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Santos Escobar.
Alongside that match, WWE announced that the SmackDown World Cup will begin on next week’s show.
