SmackDown’s tag team division is by far the stronger on the main roster, but the issue has been that it’s just been variations of The Bar, The Usos and The New Day for as long as anyone can remember.
In fact, ever since Eric Rowan of the Bludgeon Brothers injured his bicep at SummerSlam, there have only been six active tag teams on the entire SmackDown roster – and that’s if you call SAniTy and The Colons active tag teams.
But it looks like the landscape is about to change, as both Rowan and Luke Harper are almost ready to return for their respective injuries, reports the Wrestling Observer.
Rowan was recently spotted at the WWE performance centre, and Luke Harper, although not yet cleared to return, is closing in on being given the all clear.
Their return will give a much needed boost to the roster which has been stuck in an endless circle of matches of late.
There is also the imminent debut of Heavy Machinery, who, if put on SmackDown, could make the SmackDown tag roster one of the strongest in WWE history.
