WWE’s WrestleMania 34 plans for the SmackDown Women’s Championship became official at Fastlane last night.
Right after Charlotte Flair retained her title against Ruby Riott, Asuka’s entrance music started playing and she headed to the ring and pranced around Charlotte, raining on her parade. They stared at each other and Asuka pointed at the WrestleMania 34 sign.

Asuka’s gesture made it clear that she’ll be challenging Charlotte in New Orleans on April 8th. This ends the long-awaited conclusion of Asuka’s victory in the Royal Rumble, as she has finally made her choice to pursue the SmackDown Women’s Championship over Alexa Bliss’s Raw Women’s Title.
With the match card for the Raw Women’s Championship still vacant, it seems a lock that the under-utilized Nia Jax will be placed into the red brand title picture against Bliss in New Orleans. Sasha Banks and Bayley have also had a great feud going on recently, and it will be interesting to find out where WWE manage to insert this storyline into the WrestleMania 34 card.
Here’s the updated card for WrestleMania 34:
- Universal Champion Brock Lesnar defending against Roman Reigns
- WWE Champion AJ Styles defending against Shinsuke Nakamura
- Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle vs. Stephanie McMahon & Triple H
- SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair defending against Asuka
- Intercontinental Champion The Miz defending against Seth Rollins and Finn Balor in a triple threat match
- The finals of the Cruiserweight Championship tournament
