It was perhaps inevitable given the recent angle with Braun Strowman on Raw and the history of the show: Saturday Night Live comedians Colin Jost and Michael Che will compete in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35.
This follows Jost asking Strowman if wrestling was all fake and getting choked out for his troubles then Strowman tipping over a car that Jost bought him as a gift to apologise.
During A Moment Of Bliss with Braun Strowman, Che and Jost appeared via satellite and attempted to make peace with Braun but inevitably made it worse. Strowman said he wanted to “get physical” and challenged them to compete in the battle royal. Alexa Bliss made it official, leaving the comedians bickering with each other over whose fault the predicament was.

WrestleMania has a long and storied history of celebrities competing on the show, dating right back to the inaugural event in 1985 which was headlined by A-Team star Mr. T teaming with Hulk Hogan against Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff. WrestleMania was even headlined by a celebrity in 1995 when NFL great Lawrence Taylor downed Bam Bam Bigelow.
The celebrity involvement has calmed down over the years, with Vince McMahon flipping his decision from one year to the next about whether the outsiders are great for publicity or not worth the effort. This year it appears to be the former.
