WWE star and Bloodline member Solo Sikoa has discussed the original plans for his NXT run before his main roster call-up.
Solo Sikoa made his main roster debut at the September 3 Clash at the Castle premium live event, helping Roman Reigns retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Title during his bout against Drew McIntyre.
Sikoa previously revealed that he only found out that he would be joining the main roster the weekend of the event.
Speaking with Josh Martinez on ‘Superstar Crossover’, Sikoa noted that he believed he was on a trajectory to feud with Carmelo Hayes, then NXT Champion Bron Breakker.
Discussing what could have been, Sikoa said:
“I felt like before I got called up, there were a lot of plans to after Carmelo Hayes and maybe Bron Breakker, you know, generation versus generation.
“I felt like it worked out just fine, man. Just to let everybody know, I’ve never lost the North American Title. I had to give it up, so it’s two different things. I never got beat.”
Sikoa last wrestled for NXT on the September 13 episode, defeating Carmelo Hayes for the North American Championship. He was forced to relinquish the gold as NXT didn’t sanction the original title bout.
