Special Guest Referee Announced For Upcoming Big WWE Match

A special guest referee has been announced for an upcoming big WWE match set to take place next week following another referee announcement.

Next Tuesday, WWE and TNA are set to come together for their first ever ‘Showdown’ special episode of NXT television.

The show will feature multiple matches of NXT stars facing off with TNA stars, including a title vs. title match between NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState and TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys, as well as Ethan Page defending the North American Championship against Mustafa Ali.

The show will feature two Survivor Series style elimination tag team matches, one for the men and one for the women, featuring NXT stars against TNA stars.

The men’s match will see NXT Champion Ricky Saints lead the NXT team alongside Trick Williams, Myles Borne and Je’von Evans against Team TNA led by Mike Santana, also featuring Frankie Kazarian, Moose and Leon Slater.

The women’s match will see NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker and Lola Vice face off against TNA Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan, Mara Sade and the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions The IInspiration.

Two names notably absent from the show are Joe Hendry and Jordynne Grace, who featured in a segment on this week’s NXT show, with both their loyalties to their respective brands being put into question.

It was later announced by NXT General Manager Ava that Jordynne Grace would serve as the Special Guest Referee for the women’s tag match, and the men’s match now also has a Special Referee.

Per TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella, Joe Hendry will serve as the referee for the men’s tag team match.
