Former IMPACT star Rohit Raju made his AEW debut during the second session of tapings, losing to Captain Shawn Dean.
Raju won the IMPACT X Division Championship in August 2020. He held the title for 120 days before losing the gold to Manik (TJP) at Final Resolution 2020. He last appeared for IMPACT at Throwback Throwdown II in December. Raju’s IMPACT contract expired at the end of 2021.
A number of notable talents have wrestled during recent Dark tapings, including ROH Pure Champion Josh Woods, who wrestled during the December 3 Universal Studios event.
The January 15 tapings featured several ex-NXT names, including Marina Shafir, Anthony Greene and Tiger Ruas, who recently revealed that he has had talks with NJPW.
