Spoiler On Championship Plans For Tonight’s WWE SmackDown (May 19) WWE

Spoilers have emerged with some notes for tonight’s May 19 episode of WWE SmackDown, including apparent championship plans.

Tonight’s SmackDown is the penultimate episode before May 27’s Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia – next week’s SmackDown will also be taped tonight because of the travel to Saudi next week.

WRKD Wrestling has outlined some the early plans for tonight’s SmackDown, which are usually on the money unless WWE makes changes to its plans closer to the show.

One of the big notes is: “Sheamus getting into the hunt for a title”.

It wasn’t specified which title, but the most likely is Austin Theory’s United States Championship, as Theory doesn’t have an opponent yet for Night of Champions.

Both Sheamus and Theory were in a three-way match last week that was won by Bobby Lashley, so they’ve already had that interaction.

WRKD Wrestling also mentioned for tonight: “An angry Roman Reigns continuing to get fed up with The Usos”.

Reigns will team with Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions to challenge Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship, and WRKD reported recently that one plan in WWE’s mind for the July 1 Money in the Bank event in London is Reigns & Sikoa vs the Usos.

It was also said that tonight will play host to the “debut of some NXT draftees” – WWE has already announced Pretty Deadly vs Butch & Ridge Holland for tonight, as well as the SmackDown debut edition of the Grayson Waller Effect talk show with guest AJ Styles.

Speaking of Styles, WRKD Wrestling added: “Time running out for AJ Styles”.

It’s unclear exactly what that means, but at a guess, it could be a potential feud starting with Styles and Karrion Kross.

Styles will face Seth Rollins at Night of Champions to become the first winner of the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

There’s been an update on Rollins’ status and time away from WWE TV, which you can read at this link.
