It has been reported by PWInsider that the original Hart Foundation will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the class of 2019. This would include Bret Hart, Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart, and their manager Jimmy Hart.
This version of the Hart Foundation will not include Owen Hart, Brian Pillman, or Davey Boy Smith, who all joined the revamped faction in 1997. This is likely due to the legal complications caused by Owen Hart’s widow Martha not wanted her late husband to be honored by WWE.
The Hart Foundation was founded in 1985 following the purchase of Stu Hart’s Stampede Wrestling. They would become one of the WWF’s best tag teams, holding the Tag Team Championships twice and engaging in memorable feuds with the British Bulldogs and Demolition. Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart would remain a team until 1991 where they would go their separate ways.
Bret Hart was previously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006 by ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. Jimmy Hart has also been inducted into the Hall of Fame as he was inducted by Jerry Lawler in the class of 2005. However, this will be the first induction for Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart who passed away in August, 2018.
