**The following article contains spoilers for the IMPACT Wrestling tapings held last night (January 9), turn away if you do not wish to be spoiled**
At IMPACT Hard To Kill, Deonna Purrazzo unsuccessfully challenged for Mickie James’ Knockouts Championship in a Texas Death Match. Purrazzo’s luck quickly turned around, with The Virtuosa winning the ROH Women’s Championship from Rok-C during the January 9 IMPACT TV tapings.
Purrazzo challenged Rok-C to a Title vs Title match in December at ROH Final Battle. This title win marks Purrazzo’s first reign with the ROH Women’s Championship, and the first time a ROH title has changed hands during the promotion’s hiatus. Purrazzo also holds the AAA Reina De Reina’s Championship, winning the gold at TripleMania in August.
ROH is expected to resume operations in April, with a venue reportedly booked for a Supercard of Honor show. ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham has also defended his title ahead of the promotion’s return, most recently defeating Chris Sabin at Hard To Kill.
The ROH Women’s Championship match will air this week on Thursday’s episode of IMPACT.
