*** WARNING – This piece will contain spoilers for next week’s episode of NXT ***
Next week’s episode of NXT on the USA Network is set to be broadcast on Christmas Day. While Vince McMahon might be known for his ruthlessness, his son-in-law Triple H is not making NXT stars working over the holidays.
As a result, next week’s episode of NXT will feature matches that have been pre-recorded.
It was revealed on last night’s NXT that Roderick Strong will defend his North American Championship on the 12/25 episode of NXT in an Open Challenge.
The match was actually recorded before last week’s episode of NXT, with the call being answered by NXT debutant Austin Theory.
Twitter user @MrJacobCohen noted that a title match between Austin Theory and Roderick Strong was taped before the 12/11 show last week.
The match was said to be rather good, and will be Theory’s first televised NXT appearance since signing a WWE developmental deal back in August.

The other match set for next week’s show is a tag team bout pitting fan-favourie Keith Lee and former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush against Damian Priest and Tony Nese.
The match has reportedly not yet been taped, and there is no word on when WWE is going to be filming it. Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on that.
