Spoiler On WWE’s Big Plans For Elimination Chamber

It was confirmed earlier this week that six Raw Superstars will compete in an Elimination Chamber match at the pay-per-view next month to determine who will challenge Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

WWE confirmed that Asuka, Sarah Logan, Shayna Baszler, Ruby Riott, Natalya and Liv Morgan will all be competing for the chance to challenge “The Man” at the “show of shows”.

This is the only chamber match that has been confirmed by WWE for the PPV so far. However, it has been widely speculated that six SmackDown stars will compete for the right to challenge The Fiend at WrestleMania in the gimmicked match.

Dave Meltzer is reporting in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the plan is indeed to have six men compete in the chamber, with the winner going on to face The Fiend at WrestleMania.

Meltzer also went on to add that Shayna Baszler and Roman Reigns are widely expected to win the matches and go on to challenge Becky Lynch and The Fiend for their respective titles at ‘Mania:

“Both the Smackdown title match at Mania and the Raw women’s title match shots are at stake at the Elimination Chamber show on 3/8 in Philadelphia.

“Obviously, unless they gimmick things and work a storyline to change, the plans would be Reigns and Baszler respectively winning. As noted last week, the six people in the Reigns match on that show are not decided. The women’s match will have Baszler, Natalya, Ruby Riott, Asuka, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. One would look at that knowing only Baszler and Asuka would have a chance. On the Smackdown side, it pretty much has to be Reigns.”

This is interesting as it was originally reported that Roman Reigns and Shayna Baszler were going to win the Royal Rumble matches back in January. However, plans changed and WWE instead went with Drew McIntyre and Charlotte Flair.
