A spoiler has emerged on plans for a WWE NXT star to make his return as a new character, following recent vignettes.
In recent weeks, promo videos have hyped the debut of ‘Giovanni Vinci’. Fightful Select (subscription required) has confirmed speculation that this character will actually be Fabian Aichner’s new role.
Aichner hasn’t been seen on NXT TV since he walked out on his tag partner, Marcel Barthel, on the April 5 episode of NXT 2.0. Barthel and Gunther were moved to the SmackDown roster shortly thereafter, with Barthel receiving the new name ‘Ludwig Kaiser’.
The report noted that the voice in the vignettes is not that of Aichner.
Aichner has been with WWE since 2016, with the former Imperium member competing in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament, before officially signing with the company in June 2017.
During his time with the company, Aichner has held the NXT Tag Team Title twice, both times with Barthel (Kaiser)
