SPOILER: Two Brand Switches, New Role For Hall Of Famer And New Signings At NXT UK

***THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM LAST NIGHT’S NXT UK TAPINGS IN COVENTRY***

Two performers switches brands, one performer became a full-time member of the NXT UK roster and there was a new behind the scenes position for a WWE Hall Of Famer at last night’s NXT UK tapings at the Coventry Skydome.

In a promo on the show, 205 Live star Noam Dar announced that he is becoming a full time regular for NXT UK. Dar is understood to be moving back home to the UK shortly and will become a permanent fixture on the brand. Prior to his home move he is expected to continue with 205 Live to write him off the show.

Kassius Ohno, who is doing an angle where he quit NXT in the US, also wrestled on the show, defeating Ashton Smith in a brief squash. Although not confirmed, the general belief is that Ohno will become a semi-regular in NXT UK in an effort to boost attendances and to give the British talent a veteran hand to work with. Ohno will also serve as a coach at the UK PC in the week prior to tapings.

Jay ‘Primate’ Melrose has been confirmed as a full-time member of the NXT UK roster, having previously made appearances for the brand without a contract. Primate is now full-time, having officially signed with WWE over the past week. At the tapings he teamed with Wild Boar (who he also teamed with in Liverpool last year), defeating Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley in a squash. The duo are now known as The Hunt.

Kay Lee Ray, who was shown in the crowd at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool last month and confirmed as a new signing, made her debut for the brand with a victory over Candyfloss. There was no sign of Viper or Jazzy Gabert, who signed at the same time as KLR.

Others from the regular roster who did not wrestle or appear incude: Dave Mastiff, James Drake, Sam Gradwell, Zack Gibson, Jinny, Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm and Xia Brookside.

Finally, Jeff Jarrett was in attendance at the tapings working behind the scenes as a producer/agent. He made a brief appearance in front of the crowd as a special bonus for those in attendance. We understand Jarrett was there in place of Triple H, who was attending Ric Flair’s 70th birthday bash and was not at the tapings.
