Spoilers may have emerged for more matches that could be added to the card for WWE Night of Champions 2023 in Saudi Arabia.
With the event set to take place on Saturday, May 27, this coming Friday’s episode of SmackDown was pre-taped (spoilers for that at this link), and WWE talent are already being flown to Saudi Arabia today.
However, as reported by by PWInsider Elite (via Wrestling Inc), the talent heading to Saudi includes some names that aren’t actually announced for matches yet.
Those names include the Street Profits, Omos, Karrion Kross, Scarlett, LA Knight and Rick Boogs.
While it’s possible some are just heading over for promotional reasons, it also may be that at least some of those could be involved in matches on the show itself as well.
Last week’s episode of SmackDown saw the Street Profits beat the team of Knight and Boogs, which was followed by Knight blaming Boogs for the loss and attacking him.
Karrion Kross (with Scarlett) has teased a feud with AJ Styles, and those two are set for a match against each other on the May 26 episode of SmackDown, which is the pre-taped show that airs the night before Saudi Arabia (so the match has actually already happened).
At Night of Champions, Styles will face Seth Rollins in the final of the tournament to decide the first winner of the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
And then there’s Omos, who hasn’t been on WWE TV since losing against Rollins at Backlash, but due to him being such an attraction, he can’t be ruled out of performing at a Saudi show.
The show is the latest entry in the ten-year “strategic partnership” between WWE and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport and will be the ninth event held in the country.
The card for WWE Night of Champions 2023 on Saturday, May 27 is as follows:
World Heavyweight Championship – Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins vs. AJ Styles
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship – Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn (c) vs. Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa
Raw Women’s Championship – Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka
SmackDown Women’s Championship – Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Natalya
Intercontinental Championship – Gunther (c) vs. Mustafa Ali
Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus
