Spoilers On Several Surprise Entrants For Royal Rumble

A number of surprise entrants for tonight’s women’s WWE Royal Rumble match have been revealed via a report from PWInsider.

None of these names have been confirmed by WWE, so stop reading now if you don’t want to be spoiled.

The first name, which isn’t actually a surprise at all really, is Shayna Baszler. The report notes that she is slated to be in the match.

Baszler dropped the NXT Women’s Championship in late December to Rhea Ripley, and currently stands as the odds on favourite with popular betting sites to win the Rumble.

Another NXT star that will be working the women’s Rumble is Mercedes Martinez.

Martinez signed with WWE earlier this month, and had an impressive showing in the NXT Women’s Title number one contender battle royal for her TV debut.

Sticking with NXT, commentator Beth Phoenix is also set for tonight’s Women’s Rumble match.

Phoenix, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017 as the youngest ever inductee, became only the second woman to ever compete in a men’s Rumble in 2010, and remains only one of four to hold that distinction.

She was also in the first ever women’s Rumble in 2018, and most recently competed at WrestleMania 35 teaming with Natalya in the Women’s Tag Team Title match.

Speaking of the first ever women’s Rumble, Molly Holly, who also participated in that event, is set for tonight.

Holly is a two-time WWE Women’s Champion and former Hardcore Champion, and was also part of the battle royal at Evolution in 2018.

Finally, word on two names who won’t be in the Rumble according to the report, as there are no plans for Becky Lynch nor Asuka to be in it.

Those women are set for singles competition elsewhere on the card as Becky Lynch defends the Raw Women’s Title.
