Many people were expecting there to be some kind of leaks for this year’s WrestleMania since it has already been taped. However, WWE is being very tight-lipped.
Now, we know why. According to a report by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Vince McMahon has decided that anyone who was found spoiling WrestleMania would be fired.
Apparently, the only people who could have spoiled the event would have been the wrestlers, the agents, members of the production team, or the creative team.
The agents for Mania were revealed to include Adam Pearce, Road Dogg, and Shawn Michaels. The brain trust of the creative team includes Triple H, Paul Heyman, Michael Cole, Bruce Pritchard, and Vince McMahon himself.
The article also revealed WWE and ESPN were working on a deal to air WrestleMania on ESPN+. The deal would have been similar to UFC’s.
Sadly for WWE, The coronavirus ended talks for this year. ESPN wasn’t willing to pony up the cash with the uncertainty of the event even happening.
The door is open for WrestleMania to be aired on ESPN+ next year.
