A crossover talent from another company had a championship match in WWE at an untelevised live event tonight.
A couple of weeks ago, it was announced that Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Yoshiki Inamura was on an excursion and training at the WWE Performance Center.
This comes after NXT’s Josh Briggs and Tavion Heights competed in NOAH’s N-1 Victory tournament in Japan this past August.
Inamura made a brief appearance on WWE NXT TV this past Tuesday as he and Briggs had a meeting with NXT General Manager Ava.
Now, Inamura has officially stepped into an NXT ring for a match for the first time.
Tonight – Saturday, November 16 – Inamura and Briggs teamed up in an NXT Tag Team Championship match at a live event in Tampa, Florida.
The defending champions, Axiom and Nathan Frazer, picked up the win and retained their championship.
In the main event of the show, Trick Williams retained the NXT Championship over Wes Lee.
