We heard the spoilers, we heard the hype but it was all warranted as Wheeler Yuta put on a star-making performance against Jon Moxley on tonight’s (April 8) episode of AEW Rampage.
With Wheeler busted open early and bleeding throughout the match, he not only put Moxley through a table, he also kicked out of his finisher not once but twice.
First kicking out of Moxley’s Paradigm Shift leaving Moxley shocked and frustrated with the ref, Yuta pressed on as the crowd was solidly behind him, blood all over the mat. Near fall after near fall, Yuta would not quit.
After kicking out of the Paradigm Shift for a second time, Moxley was finally able to put Wheeler down via submission.
Bryan Danielson and William Regal then joined Yuta and Moxley in the ring where Regal offered Yuta a handshake, which he accepted, to close the show.
After the match aired, the boss himself Tony Khan tweeted, “A star is born @WheelerYuta #AEWRampage”
