Following the recent company layoffs, Stephanie McMahon has explained the restructuring of the WWE media department.
In the last few months, a large number of WWE employees were given their marching orders. According to Stephanie McMahon, their media department is in the process of evolution.
During an interview with Yahoo Finance, McMahon was asked about the merging of media departments. Stating that the old system resulted in duplication and inefficiency, McMahon said:
“Like a lot of media companies, we’re in the process of transition and evolution. When you consider the fact that we had three different media teams doing the same work, we realized there was a lot of duplication and Inefficiency. It’s being more prudent business people and looking at our business in a different way.”
Giancarlo Dittamo, who directed many WWE documentaries, was one of the names recently released by WWE. His “Superfan: The Story of Vladimir” special was announced during WrestleMania weekend.
Another report has noted that more WWE releases could be coming in the near future.
