Arrow star Stephen Amell has history with both WWE and AEW.
Amell wrestled for WWE back at SummerSlam in 2015, where he teamed with Neville (Pac) to defeat Stardust (Cody Rhodes) and Wade Barrett.
He also wrestled Christopher Daniels at the All In pay-per-view in 2018.
Amell is the star of the ‘Heels’ series on Starz, which is centered around the world of professional wrestling.
Speaking at Popcon ahead of season 2 of the show, Amell was asked if he would return to the wrestling ring again.
Amell revealed that he is going to try to work with either WWE or AEW ahead of season 2 of the show airing.
He said:
“I think what I’m going to try to do is…I’m going to try to do something with WWE or AEW around the launch of the second season. We’ll see. Whatever that is,”
Amell was then asked about who he would like to wrestle, to which he said:
“Cody Rhodes.”
The idea of a match against AJ Styles was then suggested to Amell, which he agreed would be cool, as well as naming AEW star Darby Allin.
He said:
“AJ Styles, that could be good. Darby Allin, I like Darby Allin a lot.”
Various wrestlers have filmed roles for the show, including Serena Deeb and Jordynne Grace.
CM Punk was famously a part of the show’s first season.
