‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin has opened up on his ’embarrassing’ accident during his segment at WWE WrestleMania 41.
WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin made a surprise appearance during night two of WWE WrestleMania 41, where he rode to the ring to announce the attendance for the second night.
However, the segment made headlines due to an accident Austin had prior to getting into the ring, when he crashed his ATV that he was riding to the ring into the barricade at ringside, accidentally knocking over a fan in the front row.
Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Austin was asked what went wrong with the ride at WrestleMania, to which he said:
“Different throttle set up than what I’m used to. Long story short, just a different throttle system. I’m pretty dang handy on a four-wheeler.”
Austin was asked if there was any aftermath to the accident, with him noting that he was embarrassed by it, but everyone ended up okay.
He said:
“I was embarrassed by it. I think everybody is okay. You go out there on the biggest night in wrestling and you end up like that, it’s not the greatest day at the office. You go out there and want to give people the best show that you can and when you fall short of that, it’s not great.”
Austin was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the second time over WrestleMania 41 weekend, with he and Bret Hart receiving the inaugural ‘Immortal Moment’ induction with their match at WrestleMania 13.
