WWE rather surprisingly announced last night that they had come to terms with the release of Friday Night SmackDown star Steve Cutler, who had only been called up to the main roster after WrestleMania 36 last year.
The release is believed to be down to heat that Vince McMahon had with the former NXT star, which you can read more about by clicking here.
Taking to Twitter following the news last night, Steve Cutler (real name Steve Kupryk) had the following to say, suggesting that he certainly didn’t see his release from the company coming:
Unfortunately, today I was released. It was shocking, to say the least. But, I am excited about the future and all the possibilities in front of me. Thanks for your continued support. 90 days… the countdown begins
At this time, Cutler’s tag team partner Wesley Blake has not commented on the release, and neither has King Corbin, who the pair were briefly aligned with at the end of last year.
