Steve Maclin Reveals Preparation For Barbed Wire Massacre Match IMPACT

While IMPACT Wrestling’s upcoming pay-per-view, Victory Road may be hosting a big opportunity for Steve Maclin, it is also a major risk.

Choosing to undertake a Barbed Wire Massacre match a mere weeks before his wedding to fellow IMPACT Wrestling star, Deonna Purrazzo, Maclin discusses preparing for the brutal match.

In an interview with Denise Salcedo, Steve Maclin said of the expected to be bloody battle:

“I am going to get cut, I am going to bleed, I am probably gonna fall off of something, I don’t know.

“I just have the plan of knowing my body is gonna hurt the next day and it’s going to take time off of our careers, probably.

“But, it’s gonna be one of those matches where I feel the three of us will go out there and show out but also tell the story we have been telling.”

The Barbed Wire Massacre match is unique in that it is not your typical No DQ match.

For the uninitiated, the Barbed Wire Massacre match involved the ropes being replaced with barbed wire that has been set up in an X pattern with plenty of barbed wire wrapped or attached objects readily available around the ring for use as weapons.

There has been four such matches since it was originated in TNA in 2005 and have included combatants who will fight again.

The last Barbed Wire Massacre match occurred just last January 2021 when Eddie Edwards defeated Sami Callahan at Hard to Kill.

Callahan will get his chance to win the unique match however when he takes on Steve Maclin and Moose at Victory Road on September 23, 2022.
