A former WWE star has confirmed that he’s helping to coach wrestling legend Sting’s son, Steven Borden, following Borden’s recent in-ring debut.

Following the second-generation star’s first match in October 2025, Steven Borden Jr – who wrestles as Steven Borden – has recently been involved in dark matches at AEW and ROH tapings.

Speaking on Paltrocast with Darren Paltrowitz, NJPW’s Fred Rosser (fka WWE’s Darren Young) has noted that he has been helping to privately train Borden.

Calling training Borden a personal project, the former WWE star said:

“The coaching is pretty full-time with me, and I’m working with Sting’s son, Steven Borden, helping to groom him privately and helping him become all that he’s created to be inside the ring.

“He’s working hard, doing some dark matches, getting some reps out in front of a crowd.

“That means a lot to me, so that’s a personal project that I’m trying to conquer.”
