An update has emerged on Sting’s current AEW status, amid speculation about the wrestling legend’s future with the promotion.
Sting stepped away from the ring after teaming with Darby Allin to defeat the Young Bucks in AEW Revolution in March.
With Sting recently noting that he will watch All In 2025 from “somewhere”, there has been some speculation about what Sting will be doing in a year’s time.
Amid this speculation, Darby Allin noted in an interview that Sting has attended several AEW Collision tapings recently.
Fightful Select provided an update on the situation, noting that things have changed over the last month.
Per the report, Sting was backstage at a couple of recent AEW and ROH tapings in Texas, because he lives in the area. Sting was reportedly at these tapings to visit friends and surprise Darby Allin by showing up to the Collision taping where he wrestled.
The report stated that while Sting is still listed on the AEW roster page, he has not actively been working for the company.
Darby Allin recently confirmed that he’s helping to train Sting’s son following previous reports, which you can read more about right here.
