WWE confirmed during Raw that a stipulation has been added to the WWE Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton at Clash of Champions.
Opening tonight’s Raw, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre addressed Orton ahead of their scheduled match at the pay-per-view.
The Scot pointed out that over the past few weeks they’ve both put each other in ambulances. This then led to him challenging Orton to an ambulance match for the strap.
Orton wasn’t there to accept, but it would be a weird thing to mention if it wasn’t the plan. It was officially confirmed later in the show that it will indeed be an ambulance match.
WWE official Adam Pearce, who has become the on-screen authority figure as of late, added stakes to tonight’s match between McIntyre and Keith Lee. He said that if Lee won and Orton can’t make it to Clash, Lee would replace him in challenging for McIntyre’s title.
The Lee vs McIntyre match was a no contest as RETRIBUTION laid out both men. However, they were then confronted by the Hurt Business, and after brawling on the outside, everyone was taken out by simultaneous dives from Lee and McIntyre.
