Stipulations Added To Cody Rhodes Vs. Drew McIntyre At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event WWE

Additional stipulations have been added to the Drew McIntyre vs Cody Rhodes Undisputed WWE Championship match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

A couple of weeks ago on SmackDown, McIntyre challenged Rhodes for the title, but the match ended when Rhodes got disqualified for using the title belt as a weapon.

This meant Rhodes kept hold of the WWE Title, as championship match rules dictate that if the champion gets disqualified or counted out, they keep the title – the only way the challenger can become champion is via pinfall or submission.

On tonight’s SmackDown before SNME tomorrow, McIntyre and Rhodes had a contract signing before their match.

With SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis in the ring to oversee proceedings, McIntyre refused to sign the contract.

McIntyre said the contract was lopsided in favor of Rhodes, and demanded a change – if Rhodes gets disqualified or counted out, McIntyre wins the WWE Championship, removing the champion’s advantage element.

Aldis was initially hesitant, but Rhodes himself agreed to the stipulation and Aldis signed off on it.

McIntyre vs Rhodes will be one of four championship matches at SNME tomorrow, with WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton defending against Jade Cargill, Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio defending against both Rusev and Penta in a three-way, and CM Punk vs Jey Uso to determine the new World Heavyweight Champion after the title was vacated by Seth Rollins due to injury.
