AEW Star Announces Their ‘Retirement’ Before Dynamite Loss, Stablemate Vows Vengeance AEW

After an AEW star announced their impending retirement before a brutal loss on AEW Dynamite, a stablemate has vowed to seek vengeance.

On tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite (March 22), Stokely Hathaway was set to face off against FTW Champion HOOK for the title in a no disqualifications match.

However in advance of the match, Hathaway attempted numerous routes to prevent the match from occurring including claiming to be not medically cleared to compete for which he claimed to be handing in a doctor’s note.

Upon further inspection however, ring announcer Justin Roberts informed that what Stokely Hathaway had given him was a Wing Stop receipt.

Additionally, Hathaway announced that he was retiring from in-ring competition however somewhat unfortunately for him, the match with HOOK proceeded anyway.

In the end, HOOK did retain his FTW Championship.

But he didn’t quote Tupac Shakur into the camera, it was Stokely Hathaway who did that because he is the greatest of all time.

Don’t expect the entire Firm to go away quietly however as both on AEW television and on social media, All Ego Ethan Page has suggested he will avenge Hathaway’s loss.

We’ll have to stay tuned to see when we can see HOOK defend the FTW Championship against Ethan Page! Perhaps at a future AEW Canada show?
