WWE legend ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin recently appeared on ESPN’s Monday Tailgate, where he gave his opinions on a variety of topics, including Pat McAfee’s recent NXT run.
Austin gave a lot of praise to the former NFL punter, noting that he was particularly impressed with McAfee’s dedication to the sport. Here’s a quote from the interview, courtesy of WrestlingNews.co:
“Hey man, he puts it all on the line, he’s going for it. I think his verbal skills, he’s slaying everybody, but he’s not afraid to go out there and put it all on the line. You wouldn’t expect it from a guy who goes out there and kicks a football, but Pat McAfee is bada**. I think he’s doing a really good job. I’d give him a solid A.”
Coining some of the most iconic catchphrases in WWE history, Austin knows how to wow an audience with a mic, so McAfee has received some high praise here.
Pat McAfee made his in-ring debut earlier this year at NXT TakeOver XXX, wowing the wrestling world with his showing against Adam Cole. His second match earlier this month saw him main event NXT TakeOver: WarGames, teaming with Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch to face the Undisputed Era.
It is uncertain when McAfee will next step into the ring, but the future looks bright for the former NFL punter.
