Update On ROH Supercard Of Honor Plans Following Tony Khan Acquisition ROH

An update has emerged on plans for ROH and next month’s Supercard of Honor show, following Tony Khan’s acquisition of the promotion.

Plans for the April 1 event have been up in the air since Khan announced that he’s now the owner of ROH.

Per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Khan is not looking to start from scratch, but wont necesarrily be following previous creative plans. The current belief is that the announced Undisputed ROH World Championship match between Jonathan Gresham and Bandido will still go ahead:

‘All plans previous are off and Khan will be handling the creative, but they are not looking at starting from scratch and eliminating champions and such or killing prior storylines. The belief right now is ROH champion Jonathan Gresham vs. Bandido, who never lost the title in the ring but was stripped after testing positive for COVID just before the Final Battle PPV in December, will headline. But Khan would have to sign off on that.’

There are technically two ROH World Champions currently, with Bandido defending his gold, and Jonathan Gresham defending the ROH Original World Title he won at Final Battle 2021, when Bandido was unable to compete. As of writing, the two champions will face off in a ‘Winner Takes All’ match at Supercard of Honor in April.

A recent report revealed Tony Khan’s plans for ROH moving forward, which you can read about right here.
