There is a new report that confirms that suspended AEW stars are expected to return imminently.
Since the well documented Brawl Out situation, CM Punk, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks have been suspended and haven’t been seen on television since then.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), there is talk backstage of The Elite coming back to work for All Elite Wrestling at the very least in a backstage capacity for the first time since All Out.
One source indicated that they heard the return could happen “imminently”, but nobody could definitively confirm when it’s expected.
The report also notes that over the last couple of weeks, the most movement out of the Brawl Out situation has happened since the incident took place.
A meeting was scheduled for last week, but the context of which hasn’t been revealed.
As previously reported, AEW and CM Punk are in talks for a possible contract buyout that could allow the star to leave the promotion.
There is also a new report that indicates what Triple H’s stance on a possible Punk return to WWE is.
In an update, Fightful was told that Don Callis is in attendance at tonight’s AEW Dynamite.
We will have further updates on The Elite and their AEW status when they become available.
