Tag Team Champions Set To Appear On All Three WWE Brands

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, The IIconics, appeared on Raw on Monday night and were defeated by Bayley and Naomi. They would then show up the following night on Smackdown, teaming with Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose in a losing effort against Bayley, Ember Moon, Asuka, and NXT-call up Kairi Sane.

Dave Meltzer has noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this likely won’t be the last time we see Billie Kay and Peyton Royce appearing on both shows:

“Right now, the idea is that the women’s champions, double champion Becky Lynch and tag team champions Billie Kay & Peyton Royce will be working both brands and have different challengers on each brand.”

Whilst this was expected, what is surprising is that there aren’t any established female tag teams on Raw right now for the duo to face. With Bayley being drafted to Smackdown, her partnership with Sasha Banks has ended, which is one of the reported reasons “The Boss” tried to quit WWE.

Also, after Liv Morgan’s move to the blue brand, The Riott Squad took to social media to seemingly confirm the group was no more. Furthermore, Nia Jax has been ruled out with double knee surgery, meaning her and Tamina will not be challenging for The IIconics’ titles anytime soon.

It should also be noted that Meltzer is suggesting that The IIconics could be heading down to NXT to work with the tag teams there. Whilst Banks and Bayley promised they would defend their titles at Full Sail, they never did:

“It was indicated Kay & Royce would also defend their titles on NXT.”

Are you excited to see The IIconics appear not only on Raw and Smackdown, but also NXT? Let us know in the comments.
