Talks Regarding NXT Moving Off Wednesdays

Over the last few weeks, scheduling changes have resulted in both NXT and AEW Dynamite running unopposed. As a result, there are now reportedly discussions about WWE moving the yellow brand away from Wednesdays permanently.

The highly reputable WrestleVotes Twitter account reported the news earlier today. In their tweet, they said the discussions have taken place over the last month but nothing is imminent. Here is the tweet:

“Over the past month or so, discussions have transpired regarding NXT moving moving off Wednesday nights. No decision imminent, however, talks are ongoing. The numbers over the next 2 weeks might have some impact on this decision.”

This week’s NXT aired on Tuesday as opposed to Wednesday. If the show was to move to a different day, this would make a lot of sense.

Moving from Wednesday would allow WWE to focus more on booking storylines like what NXT’s of the past were known for. Currently, the show counter-programs AEW Dynamite fairly regularly as seen on such shows as NXT’s Great American Bash. Without AEW on the other channel, WWE would no longer have this problem.

This would also likely mean better ratings for both shows. With both running on separate days, fans would no longer have to choose which show to watch live, if they were going to watch both.
