On Friday (August 6), shocking news broke during WWE’s airing of SmackDown that the company had parted with 13 wrestlers from the NXT brand.
The releases were reportedly a part of a new set of changes that would be coming to the show soon, with the edict being that there was to be ‘no more midgets, no more starting in your 30s’.
This news has expectedly shocked the current NXT roster, with tonight being the first show since the news broke. WrestleVotes took to Twitter to give details on what the mood is like backstage ahead of the show, with it reportedly being very uneasy.
WrestleVotes tweeted:
The mood at the PC today ahead of tonight’s NXT show…. hooooooo boy. Tensions running high to say the least.
The show will be interesting to say the least, with it currently advertised to feature the return of Adam Cole, who is reportedly having ideas thought up for him in case he was to re-sign with the company.
