Top Free Agent’s Next Move Revealed AEW

An update has emerged on Tetsuya Naito and Bushi following their NJPW departures, with the duo announced for their first appearances post-exit.

There has been a lot of speculation about what’s next for both the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and former IWGP Jr Heavyweight Champion, who both left NJPW at the beginning of May.

The duo have now been announced for an upcoming independent show, with “Los Tranquilos De Japon” confirmed for RevPro Summer Sizzler.

This UK indie event will emanate from the Hangar in Wolverhampton, UK on July 25.

Speaking with Tokyo Sports, Naito noted that they chose this show to be their first post-NJPW appearance because he was aiming to wrestle in July, and “It took a while to get a US visa.”

Discussing his uncertainty about what’s next, but indicating that he and Bushi will continue to appear as independent talents, Naito said:

“I don’t know what the second and third steps will be until I take the first step. However, the more I take a break, the more my desire to wrestle grows.”

Neither Naito or Bushi have wrestled since the May 4 Wrestling Dontaku show, their final appearance for NJPW.

The duo teamed with Hiromu Takahashi and Shingo Takagi one last time as Los Ingobernables De Japon, against Taichi, TAKA Michinoku, Shota Umino & Tomohiro Ishii.

Shortly after his official exit, Naito revealed that he had surgeries planned, and that he planned to “take it easy” for the rest of May at the very least.

There had been some speculation online about Naito potentially signing with WWE or AEW, given WWE had previously shown interest in him, and he has competed for AEW through Forbidden Door events.
