NJPW star Tetsuya Naito says he wants to repay two AEW stars.
Tetsuya Naito overcame a rough start to his main event push in New Japan Pro Wrestling back in 2013 that resulted in his scheduled IWGP Heavyweight Title bout against Kazuchika Okada at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 8 to be pushed from the main event spot.
Naito would later recover and become a wildly popular figure on the roster after an excursion in CMLL and association with the Los Ingobernables stable with La Sombra and Rush.
In a new interview with Sports Illustrated, the Los Ingobernables de Japon leader revealed that he feels representing his stable around the world is how he plans to repay AEW’s Andrade El Idolo and Rush for their help earlier in his career. Naito said:
“That is the best way to repay my benefactors, Sombra and Rush, who led me to Los Ingobernables,”
“I want to spread the name of Tetsuya Naito and Los Ingobernables de Japon to more and more people.”
Tetsuya Naito is set to face Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Kenoh as part of best of five series between LIJ and Kongo at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 Night 2 on January 21.
