During the Being The Elite live mailbag show at the Starrcast III convention ahead of tomorrow night’s All Out pay-per-view, The Elite took several shots at WWE.
According to reports, Hangman Page was disappointed at the lack of pyro as he made his entrance. Nick Jackson responded by saying that they were on a “WWE budget”.
This is obviously a jab at WWE stopping using pyro on shows in recent years as a cost-cutting measure.
That was not all. When asked about what fans should expect from AEW on TNT, Matt Jackson said that you can expect stories to not fall apart after just two weeks.
While the Executive Vice President claimed that this was not an intentional dig at WWE, you cannot help but think he knew exactly what he was saying.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Nick Jackson clearly took shots at WWE for putting out a poor standard of programming when saying: “I think we are all forced [to watch bad wrestling] if we’re watching WWE, right?”
Although Matt tried to say he wasn’t shooting on WWE in his earlier statement, there is no way Nick can deny that his comments were a clear jab at WWE.
According to reports on Twitter, the pair also took shots at WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels during their show.
