The Good Brothers On How AJ Styles Got Them To Re-Sign With WWE

Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson have recently revealed how AJ Styles stopped the duo from leaving WWE during their time with the company.

In 2019, Gallows and Anderson chose to re-sign with WWE instead of leaving the company. The Good Brothers have now explained why (with the help of AJ Styles) they decided to stay.

On Talk N Shop, Gallows noted that they had discussed AEW with Styles when thinking about their futures. Anderson talked about Styles batting hard to keep the duo in WWE, even asking how much money they needed to be offered to re-sign.

Here are the full quotes:

Gallows: “He goes, ‘what do you think about this AEW thing, do you think it’s legit or not?’ We’re like, ‘Yeah, we think it’s legit.’ We’re talking about who is going and what is happening and he started pecking away at us because he knew he didn’t want to be by himself. That’s what I’m sad about. I wish we had him with us because I miss him so much and he misses this,”

Anderson: AJ walked up to us after we thought we were leaving and said, ‘How much will it take for ya’ll to stay?’ We said a number, he said ‘Alright,’ and he walked away. He went to bat for us hard.”

Unfortunately, The Good Brothers’ time in WWE following re-signing was short-lived. Gallows and Anderson were released by WWE in April 2020, along with a number of other stars.

At IMPACT Rebellion, The Good Brothers unsuccessfully challenged for FinJuice’s IMPACT Tag Team Championship. Kenny Omega was more fortunate, winning the IMPACT World Championship in the main event.

Another former WWE star made a surprise appearance at IMPACT Rebellion, replacing Eric Young in an 8-man tag team match.
