The WWE return of Matt and Jeff Hardy has been confirmed following speculation amid the ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA.
When WWE announced it’s ongoing partnership with TNA Wrestling, there were a lot of names currently working for TNA that fans had speculated about potentially appearing in WWE.
At or near the top of that list were the current TNA World Tag Team Champions and WWE icons Matt and Jeff Hardy, who have not appeared on WWE television as a team in almost six years.
However, their return to WWE television is now confirmed, with them set to be in action on next week’s episode of NXT in Cincinatti.
On tonight’s show, the No Quarter Catch Crew interrupted a backstage interview with NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom, where they called out the ‘best tag team in the world’, and the ‘greatest team of all time’, before calling out Matt and Jeff for next week.
In a social media video, Matt and Jeff responded to the challenge, confirming that they will be on next week’s NXT show to face the No Quarter Catch Crew.
Tonight’s show also saw TNA X-Division Champion Moose make his first appearance for WWE, where he confronted NXT Champion Oba Femi.
Moose will also be on next week’s show, where he defends the X-Division Championship against Lexis King.
Former AEW star Ricky Starks officially signed his WWE NXT contract on tonight’s show, and his new ring name in the company has now been confirmed.
