An update on Matt and Jeff Hardy potentially returning to WWE amid the ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA.
The Hardy Boyz made their returns to WWE television back in March, where they defended the TNA World Tag Team Championship against NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom at the Roadblock special episode of NXT.
Following their appearance, WWE released new Hardy Boyz merchandise, leading to speculation that Matt and Jeff could once again appear on WWE television during the partnership.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Matt and Jeff were asked if they wanted one more run with WWE in the future, with Matt noting that they would like ‘one last hurrah’ with the company.
He said:
Matt: “Maybe so. I think we do want to do the WWE Hall of Fame. I think we would like maybe one last hurrah with WWE, and that could even be possible while working with TNA too, so we’ll see. It would be nice to still have the most limited schedule we could have, which could optimise how much time we could spend at home with our families and our kids. Everything is kind of up in the air right now, we both feel good and I think we’re gonna rock and roll as long as we feel like we can do it.”
Prior to Jeff’s departure from WWE back in 2021, he was reportedly offered a contract that would see him inducted into the Hall of Fame, which he turned down at the time due to not wanting to be inducted without Matt.
The pair have said that they want to one day get the Hall of Fame induction, but are in no rush to do so.
They said:
Matt: “Yes, Jeff was [offered a solo Hall of Fame induction]. Because I worked at AEW at the time. I mean yeah, we’ll definitely do the Hall of Fame one day. I’m not in a rush.”
Jeff: “I was thinking 2030.”
When asked why Jeff chose to turn down the induction, he said:
Jeff: “It just felt weird, it didn’t feel right, it just didn’t feel right going in without Matt, just in the moment how I felt. [They said] ‘Ok. Good luck in your future endeavors’.
