The Hardys have addressed why they believe people still see Jeff Hardy as a megastar after all these years.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt and Jeff Hardy discussed why they believe fans still see Jeff as a megastar.
Jeff explained:
“I have this strange connection with the wrestling fans and I think it’s got a lot to do with being patient with my time to not rush a picture or not deny a picture or whatever. I always consider myself another human being with a different job and I think in the long run it’s helped me out along the way. It’s the weird ‘it factor’ and I can’t explain it, and that’s where the charismatic enigma comes into play and there’s something about me that I don’t understand but other people can look at me and see I’m a kind, entertaining, artistic person, and I think when it’s all said and done I will think, ‘That’s why I did that’. I connect with the people so much. Kill them with kindness is what I’m trying to say, and that’s what I’ve done my entire career.”If you use this transcription or any portion of it please credit WrestleTalk.com and link to this page.
Matt continued on to explain how they treat the fans has allowed for them to maintain their popularity over the years, saying:
“For both of us, we came into a lot of equity with fans by just being so fan-friendly. A lot of times people say, ‘You’re so well known, and in the big scheme you’re big stars and we can’t believe you’re being so nice to us’. At our core we’re big wrestling fans and if we met Sting or Ultimate Warrior or Macho man and they were nice to us, that would make us love them forever and that’s what we try to relate to our fans too.”If you use this transcription or any portion of it please credit WrestleTalk.com and link to this page.
As previously mentioned, Jeff Hardy also addressed the incident that led to his WWE release during this same interview.
The Hardys will be in action this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite when they team up with Darby Allin and Sting to face Private Party, The Butcher and The Blade in an eight-man tornado tag team match.
