The Hurricane SHOOTS On Royal Rumble and WWE RETURN?!

The Hurricane SHOOTS On Royal Rumble and WWE RETURN?!

Stand back, there’s a Hurricane coming through.” On January 28, at the 2018 Royal Rumble, the Hurricane shocked everyone by being a surprise entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match, coming in at number 21 and receiving a huge pop. Although his return was a short one with John Cena quickly eliminating him, seeing him back in a WWE ring felt good as it brought about a good sense of nostalgia and excitement.

Many older WWE fans will recall this catchy intro entrance to the Hurricane who wrestled for WWE from 2001 until 2010. Gregory Shane Helms – better known for in his wrestling persona as the Hurricane – is loved by many wrestling fans for his superhero gimmick and for being one of the most charismatic performers in professional wrestling.

Since his departure from the WWE he has gone on to wrestle in the independent scene, TNA, as well as ROH. But what about the man himself? What prompted his return and will we ever see him back in a WWE ring for more than just a once off moment?

Helms asid in a recent interview with NoDQ.com:

“It would depend on the schedule for sure. If they could work with that, then I’m sure there’s stuff that we could talk about. Obviously, their 205 [Live] needs a boost. I could boost that for sure, but I could boost the main roster as well.

“So if something happens with them… awesome. If it doesn’t, then that final appearance at the Rumble was so hot, the crowd popped so loud for me. If that was my last time there, then I’m actually super okay with that too.”
