One of the biggest pop culture moments of 2020 was the release of The Last Dance. The docuseries on Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls of the 1990s received critical acclaim and was a rare bright spot during the beginning of the pandemic. Now, the producers of the show have turned their attention to Steve Austin.
Lillian Garcia broke the news on the Chris Van Vliet Show as she revealed she was asked to do work on the show. Here is the quote, courtesy of Joe:
“WWE contacted me and they said the producers from The Last Dance are going to reach out to you. They want you in their documentary. It’s crazy because when I got the message I was literally just watching The Last Dance documentary.
I said, ‘Jake I’m literally watching your documentary right now, this is amazing.’ I come to find out that they want to do a documentary for Stone Cold Steve Austin and it’s coming out next year.”
Steve Austin is, of course, one of the most legendary stars in wrestling history. A key factor in the Monday Night Wars, his popularity in the late 90s cannot be understated. If the same level of quality that was seen in The Last Dance is put into this project, wrestling fans should rejoice everywhere.
