The Lucha Brothers (Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero M), AEW’s new tag team champions, just won the titles at All Out and already some want to see them square off with NWA’s champions, La Rebelión (Bestia 666 and MechaWolf).
Speaking on the AEW All Out media scrum, Fenix said:
“We want to face all the tag teams in the world. We are ready, we prepare ourselves every day to be better. Every match we did, every night, we try to be better than the last one.
“…We put 100% all night and the next one because this is the thing that makes me feel human. I have a lot of feelings when I’m in the ring and every night, every day, we prepare ourselves for the best because we want to be the best. We are the best, so we are ready for any tag team in the world.”
However, AEW head Tony Khan made it clear during the pay-per-view’s post-show media scrum Sunday (Sept. 5) he wants The Lucha Brothers to focus on other AEW teams for the time being, saying:
“You’re asking the wrong guy,” Khan said, referring to Fenix. “I am ‘The Forbidden Door,’ but I think there’s a lot of really good tag teams,” Khan continued. “Yeah, I think we got a lot of really good tag teams here in AEW, so that’s good.”
