The Miz Comments On R-Truth Future Following WWE Departure

The Miz has commented on the future of former tag team partner R-Truth following his WWE departure.

On June 1 R-Truth took to social media to announce his departure from WWE after almost two decades with the company.

With it later being revealed that Truth’s departure came as a result of WWE opting not to renew his contract, tributes to the veteran star poured in from the WWE locker room.

One of the stars to publicly comment on Truth’s departure was his former Awesome Truth tag team partner The Miz, with the former two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion referring to him as “one in a lifetime”:

Posting on Twitter, Miz wrote:

Forming Awesome Truth with you was one of the best runs of my career. No one made me laugh harder.

Your energy, heart, and smile lit up every room…and every arena. You’re not one of a kind, you’re one in a lifetime.

Love you, Truth. Keep shining.

In a new interview with Fox News Digital, The Miz commented further on Truth’s exit and future beyond WWE, tipping his former partner to “bounce on his feet”:

“Obviously, I was in a tag team with R-Truth, so it’s always sad to see something like that happen, but I think Truth will bounce on his feet. He’s a hell of a talented superstar.”

This week’s WWE Raw and NXT shows saw several R-Truth related chants break out, with CM Punk even acknowledging them after Raw went off the air.

Truth was not the only star to confirm their WWE departure within the last week, as Raw’s Carlito and Valhalla/Sarah Logan both announced that their contracts were also not being renewed.
