The decision to have The Miz cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Drew McIntyre is one that has certainly split fans, with some saying he deserves it, and others feeling it’s a terrible decision to have the Miz as your top WWE title holder in 2021.
There is no question that the Miz has done a lot for WWE, and he does have plenty of fans inside and outside the company. This was once again proved during an interview the Miz had with Renee Paquette on her Oral sessions podcast.
Miz revealed that the reaction backstage after his win was very positive.
“Another cool thing was, at the Elimination Chamber, when I went backstage, I talked to the people in the chamber. They were all very receptive and proud, and being like, you deserve it.”
He added that the moment he won the match, he wanted to go straight home and celebrate with his family, as it’s not every day you become WWE champion.
It is generally thought that Miz’s reign will be very short, and may even be over on Monday as he faces Bobby Lashley in a match for his newly won title.
