A former WWE star believes they are “the other Head of the Table” next to Roman Reigns.
Afa Anoa’i Jr. is a member of the legendary Anoa’i family, which includes The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Afa Jr. previously worked for WWE from 2006 through 2009 and was briefly a member of The Legacy with Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes in 2008. He now remains active on the independent wrestling scene.
Speaking to Tantalizing Tony, Afa Jr. discussed the legacy of the Anoa’i family to the wrestling business. He said:
“I don’t necessarily look at it as I have to live up to the legacy of the family name, I look at it as, I have to create my own road on this legacy.”
“We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Roman, he’s made it to the top of the game in WWE, I’ve made it to the top of the game without them.”
“I’ve stayed relevant for the last 25 years without them. I’m about to be, and I’m saying this prophetically, I’m about to be an award-winning Broadway choreographer.”
Discussing his success outside of the squared circle and noting it not being possible if he was in WWE, the former Manu continued on to note that if Roman is “The Head of the Table” in WWE then he is the other head. He said:
“That doesn’t happen if I’m in WWE. I’m not able to do all the side projects, I’m not able to run Battlefield, I’m not able to wrestle in the ECW Arena if I’m in WWE.”
“I’m not saying I never want to go back, I’m just showing the world that we run WWE, we also run wrestling outside of WWE.”
“If you want to look at Roman as the head of the table there, you wanna look at me as the other head, that’s the way I look at it.”
Afa Jr. recently competed for BCW Tribute To The Extreme, teaming up with Beastman to defeat The FBI’s Little Guido and Luigi Primo. Meanwhile, The Bloodline will be busy to close the year with The Usos first defending the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles against Hit Row on tonight’s SmackDown.
Then, Roman Reigns will team with “Honorary Uce” Sami Zayn to face Kevin Owens and the returning John Cena on the December 30 edition of SmackDown.
