Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has reportedly been approached about hosting this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards.
Per Deadline, The Emmys have expressed interest in both The Rock and comedian Chris Rock for hosting duties, but it is believed that Chris Rock has declined the ‘informal offer’.
While The Rock is tied to NBC through being an executive producer for the network’s Young Rock series, the Primetime Emmy producers are starting with approaching ‘ambitious’ top choices, regardless of whether or not they are affiliated with NBC, per the report.
The Primetime Emmy Awards will air on September 12 on NBC.
There has been speculation that The Rock will return to WWE ahead of WrestleMania 39 in April 2023, which will emanate from California’s SoFi Stadium.
It was previously reported that the People’s Champion has no movie commitments for the first quarter of 2023, fuelling rumors that The Rock will be preparing for a return to the ring next year.
